Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

In Theatres: June 2012

Vampire movies still rule as they always have and Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is definitely a movie you'll want to watch this year. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith's novel of the same name; the movie is set against the premise of the 16th president of America living a secret life as a vampire hunter, who wouldn't want to watch this movie? If that doesn't reel you in, this is a Tim Burton produced movie and so you can expect a quirky/dark thriller which will keep you glued to your screen.

The Dark Knight Rises

In Theatres: July

Christopher Nolan brings us the third and last installation of the Batman series with The Dark Knight Rises. Christopher Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman star in this film. The film starts off 8 years after The Dark Knight, with batman being hunted down by the Gotham City Police Department for presumably crimes that he committed; when in reality he assumed the crimes of deceased District Attorney Harvey Dent.

The Amazing Spider-Man

In Theatres: July 2012

There have been mixed reactions with the news that we will have a spiderman movie on our big screens this year. We all got used to Tobey Maguire as spiderman, but Marc Webb brings us Andrew Garfield as the new spiderman in The Amazing Spider-Man. We follow Peter Parker as he tries to understand the mystery of his parents disappearance. You can't help but feel excited that spiderman will be back on the big screens. We can only wait and see if Webb has done justice to our beloved superhero movie.

Looper

In Theatres: September 2012

The classic mob/gangland movie is mashed up with a time travelling plot to create Rian Johnson's Looper. Set in 2042, Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in the futuristic movie as a mobster who kills and disposes off the bodies in 2072. What happens when a target he is meant to kill turns out to be his older self? With a stellar cast including Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt this is one movie that you shouldn't miss this year.
