RUSH was created by Lucy Chodota and acclaimed actor/acting coach/producer/ director Neil Schell directed the show. It isn't clear why the show has taken a whole 2 years to get to the production phase; 2 years ago the show was rumoured to have cosmetic giant L'Oreal as one of its sponsors. Wendy Kimani, Ian Mbugua and Godfrey Odhiambo are among the show's cast as well as Marrianne Nungo, Scolly Cheruto, Wendy Sankale and Claude Judah. The plot revolves around 4 empowered African women Nana, Koko, Frida and Ayok as they go about their fabulous lives in their 'cosmopolitan world.' The series teaser suggests that some changes have been done to the cast; Patricia Kihoro may no longer be part of the series and Janet Mbugua seems to have taken over her initial role in the show and Wendy Sankale also seems to have taken over the role of Ayok, which was initially played by Scolly Cheruto..
The show released what they said was a pilot 2 years ago (watch it here) and in comparison it has been revamped making it bigger and markedly better. A Facebook page was opened up for Rush in November last year, further raising the anticipation of people like us who really can't wait to see if this is indeed our own version of Sex and The City. However, a Rush teaser for the show's pilot has been released giving us hope that we'll soon stayed glued to our screens following the exploits of the captivating women.
Watch the latest teaser of the show's pilot below and keep up to date with the latest news about RUSH through their Facebook page.
