Muhamad Yasin started FNM, which he co-runs with his wife Nasreen, about 3 months ago. The business exists exclusively online and came about as Nasreen's idea. Muhamad would bring quality kitchenware that are hard to find in Kenya or are available at costly prices for his friends and family from his trips to Dubai. Seeing the positive reception of these products, which were generally quite affordable, the two decided to capitalise on it and so FNM was born.

FNM, derives its name from Yasin's family; F stands for Fatma, Muhamad's baby, N for Nasreen his Wife and M for Muhamad. With such a sweet history behind the name, we can't help but fall in love more with the business. FNM operates through their Facebook page, OLX and Pigia Me. They offer free delivery services to clients within the Nairobi CBD and courier services to clients in other towns. They mostly offer courier services to clients in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

Muhamad explains that they decided to operate online because "the world has turned to a global village and that is how business is now." there are many platforms for free advertising including Facebook groups like Soko Kuu and Online Soko with thousands of members who are willing buyers. He also explains that most people in urban areas have embraced online shopping, making the internet an easy market place to reach consumers.
He explains that the main challenges of selling online is getting clients to trust online businesses, owing to several con artists who have tarnished theHe explains that most clients want to pay upon delivery, not factoring that sellers have to cover costs such as shipping of products and courier services. He has overcomes this challenge by meeting clients halfway and allowing them to pay half the total amount before delivery and send the balance upon delivery. Another challenge he faces is risking sending fragile goods to clients which might break while being delivered or having deliveries take time to reach clients.

Muhamad tells any client who is searching for kitchenware to choose FNM saying "I offer good quality household appliances at cheaper prices than your average store without the hassle of going to look for the products. I take time to search for the specific products clients are looking for and deliver to them at the best prices."
