The Kenyan fashion scene has undeniably grown in the past couple of years, with fashion showcases held every other week. From the Fashion High Tea, Fashion Cafe and the recently concluded Trendz Kenya Fashion Festival; it is apparent that Kenyans have taken a keen following to fashion and Kenyan fashion designers are finally getting the recognition they deserve locally.

The annual Trendz Kenya Fashion Festival (TKFF) took place yesterday at the Tribe Hotel poolside. The turn out was impressive and the showcase was equally impressive. The platform saw fashion designers, models and retailers from Kenya, East Africa and the rest of the world showcase what they have to offer. This was the third edition of the TKFF and John Kaveke and Blackbird Jeans were some of the designers who showcased their creative designs.
Other designers who showcased their creations include Anita Dongre from India, Sonu Sharma from Kenya, Ally Rehmtullah from Tanzania, Niku Channa from Kenya, Severine Devailly from Kenya/France, Estrella from Nigeria/USA and Paledi Segapo from South Africa.
Former Miss World Kenya Susan Anyango and Miss Tourism Kenya 2011 Jazmine Nuru were amongst the models who strutted the gorgeous designs down the runway. Budding musician Alisha Popat was the host of the event.

Apart from the models, the mums present in the audience took to the runway to compete in what was dubbed the "Yummy Mummy Showcase." One lucky mum won a 55 inch Samsung Smart TV, simply for gathering the courage to brave the runway.
The event was definitely a glamorous affair and it was a sheer success. We can only wait till next year for the 4th edition of the TKFF.
