You must have read the book or heard about it; Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun has been read by hundreds if not thousands of people in Africa and the world over. News that the book would be adopted into a film was received with anticipation by the celebrated author's fans. It is great news that filming has concluded in Nigeria and we wait in bated breath for the film to grace our screens.
Acclaimed Nigerian novelist/playwright Biyi Bandele adapted the book to a screen play. The cast was made up of Thandie Newton as Olanna, Anika Noni Rose as Kainene, Gennevive Nnaji and Chiwetel Ojiofor.
The film will premier in 2013.
